Big Bear Mountain Resort (BBMR) is famous for pushing progression on and off the slopes. For the winter 2024-25 season, the progression continued at BBMR with the all-new Midway lift, which opened on Dec. 19, 2024. The high-speed six-seat lift designed by Leitner-Poma replaced chairs two and five in the central base area, and provides better uphill capacity and easier access to the mid-mountain progression terrain so guests can enjoy shorter lift lines and more time on the slopes.

The Midway lift is the latest example of upgrades at Snow Valley, Snow Summit and BBMR designed to enhance the overall guest experience. All three mountains have received significant capital investments – from dedicated facilities for kids and families to rental and retail shop renovations to base area expansions to snowmaking advancements.
