The middle of February 2018, marked the touchdown of
the newest Kässbohrer innovation on North American
snow. The new PistenBully 600 and 600W represent the
future of PistenBully. Full of innovation, this latest generation
snow groomer is packed with all the experience and
enthusiasm of PistenBully’s engineers. The large number of
patents is impressive proof of this.
The launch of the new product was performed in style on
both coasts under the motto “LEVEL RED”, complete with
product education, full-on vehicle operation and communication
about other developments by Kässbohrer; as well as a
celebration with good food and good company.
The first LEVEL RED Roadshow kicked off in the west at
Mammoth Mountain, Calif. Mountain operations and snow
surface managers, operators and vehicle technicians representing
resorts from across the western U.S. and Canada were
present. Attendees were engrossed in the new machine’s technical
innovations, on snow demonstration sessions, as well
as classroom presentations pertaining to Kässbohrer’s PRO
ACADEMY training programs and the latest SNOWsat fleet
management and snow depth developments. A week later in
the east, a similar spread of resort employees from throughout
the eastern U.S. and Canada congregated in Tannersville, Pa.,
at Camelback Mountain Resort. A highlight at both events was
the 600W winching demonstrations. Operators had the opportunity

to experience firsthand the pulling power of the 4.6+ ton
winch with patented automatic tension control.
The PistenBully 600 is the world’s first snow groomer with an
EU Stage V engine – it doesn’t get cleaner and quieter than this!
Its low weight combined with the powerful engine result in the
best power-to-weight ratio and the highest-grade ability in its
class. Thanks to the most user-friendly control concept on the
market, the integrated operating concept features a clearly arranged
and self-explanatory iTerminal with touch control, a
patented 4-axis joystick with four simultaneous blade movements
and a new workstation that integrates the seat, armrest,
control panel, joystick and steering controls.
Other new designs of the 600 include precise, electronic proportional
working hydraulics, new chassis with stronger axles
and an easy adjust suspension for climbing and ride comfort.
The patented assist system, AutoTracer, enables the tiller to
perfectly track behind the vehicle for superior finish on turns
and lateral stability when sidehilling. The new 600 can be ordered
with air conditioning.
LEVEL RED attendees left both shows with new knowledge
and respect for the level of innovation and forward thinking
that has become synonymous with PistenBully. There was no
shortage of superlatives when participants were asked to describe
their experience with the new PistenBully 600 machines.
